Cordwood Privacy Policy

The short version

Cordwood is a free game supported by ads. Rewarded ads are optional: you choose to watch them in exchange for an in-game boost. Occasionally a full-screen ad appears between rounds (never while you are swinging), no more than once every few minutes; an optional one-time purchase removes these. The ads are served by Google AdMob, and to show them Google processes some device data (described below). HEHKU — the developer — does not ask you to sign in and does not collect your name, email, or contacts. Your game progress is stored only on your device.

Advertising, and the data it uses

Cordwood uses the Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads) SDK to show rewarded and interstitial ads. As our advertising partner, Google may collect and process the following to serve, cap and measure those ads, and to prevent fraud and abuse: a device advertising identifier (such as the Android Advertising ID), approximate location derived from your IP address, general device and app information, and data about your interaction with ads (for example that an ad was shown or completed).

This information is used to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and keep the ad network safe. You can read how Google collects and uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation at any time in your device's settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android).

Your choices and consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Cordwood shows you a consent choice — using Google's User Messaging Platform — before any personalised advertising, as required by law, and your choice is respected. Wherever you are, you can open The Shed → Privacy options inside the game to review or change your consent where it applies. Ad content shown in Cordwood is limited to a maximum of a teen-appropriate rating.

What HEHKU collects directly

Nothing that identifies you by name. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. To understand how the game is played and fix problems, Cordwood sends anonymous gameplay analytics to GameAnalytics (gameanalytics.com): a random identifier created when you install the game, your device model and Android version, session start and length, and in-game events such as pieces split, woods unlocked, axes bought and ads watched. This identifier is not linked to your advertising ID or to any personal details, and it is reset if you uninstall the game.

Purchases

If you buy the optional remove-ads upgrade, the purchase is processed entirely by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. HEHKU does not receive your payment details; the game only receives confirmation from Google Play that the purchase is valid so it can unlock the upgrade on your device.

Sharing

The ad-related data described above is processed by Google acting as our advertising partner, and may be shared with Google's ad-serving and measurement partners for those purposes. Anonymous gameplay analytics are processed by GameAnalytics on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for reasons unrelated to serving the ads in this game.

Your game saves

Your progress, unlocks, and settings are stored only on your device. HEHKU never receives a copy. If you delete the app, those saves are deleted along with it.

Children

Cordwood is intended for players aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Because the game shows advertising that relies on a device advertising identifier, it is not designed or offered as a child-directed ("Made for Kids") app, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app; if you believe a child has provided data through it, contact us and we will address it.

Changes to this policy

If Cordwood changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page before that version ships and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
